BACK IN LONDON
an unplanned journey...

I remember sitting on a beach on the
Eat
Coast
of
Africa
little more than a year ago. I was watching a group of
traditional fisherman fishing. They were fishing in the
same way their parents did and as every generation
before them... I then again read the part where God called His
disciples and said: "Come with me and I will make you fishers
of men..." I then realised for the first time how hard that must've been...
As those fishermen before me... Peter and his brothers also had nothing
else in this world. Their boat, nets and the fish they caught was
everything they owned. It was the life they new, the life their parents new…
There was no security beyond those nets… and still… God calls them
away from it all!
God calls them into a life of surrender, faith, trust and discipleship…
He calls them towards a life like no other…
And today… what happened to me that morning on the beach back
in
Africa
is starting to make sense.
God is calling up a generation of disciples and leaders to in list
in His workforce. Just as a business needs employees to function and
grow… So God needs competent, surrendered, faithful men and women
to do His work here on earth. Maybe today God is calling you with
that same calling…
"Come, follow me… and I will make you fishers of men…"
Thank you to Jaco, Corneli, Jubilee and Liesel for once
again housing me at no prior notice. Thank you for the
blessing youve been to my life and the love Ive found
in your home!! May God bless you and protect you
until we see again in January!
Thank you to all my prayer support and friends!! Especially my parents... Im looking
forward to my time back home!!

How much are you willing to pay for your life??
THIS IS THE ONE QUESTION WE ALL HAVE TO ANSWER... AND THE COST WE ALL MUST PAY.
As Bonhoeffer writes:
"Cheap grace is the grace we bestow on ourselves... the preaching of forgiveness without repentance, baptism without church discipline, communion without confession. Cheap grace is grace without discipleship..."
"Costly grace is the gospel which must be sought again and again..."
"It is costly because it costs a man his life, and it is grace because it gives a man the only true life."
I have been thinking and praying about this above qoute now for the past few months and would love it for anybody to comment on this and share with me their understanding of it.
May God open our eyes as we journey through the riches of His grace and may He enable us to lay down our lives...
Thank you to all my friends who have blessed me this past week!! May God bless you all!!

Love

NOW I K
NOW...
Some times we think we know... But mostly we don't.
For the past few months I found myself in the place between:
"thinking I knew" and
"not knowing" .
I can honestly say that God is faithfull and He knows all... Looking back on the past few months I now know that God takes good-excellent care of His children. I have been going through a difficult time, mostly because of my disobedience and own-will, but still God stayed faithfull. He alone managed to drag me out of my earthly circumstances and showed me what lied above the thundery clouds.
I experienced in the last two weeks how the sun is braking through and how the Stefan I for so long new is coming back to life but with a new purpose, position and power. As 2 Timothy 1 says.
God gave us a Spirit of power, love and a sound mind... and we were created for his spescific purpose even before the creation of this earth.
I now know that through Christ Jesus as my saviour and Lord I can live a life of power and love and fulfill the dreams that God have for my life.
I would like to thank my friends,
my parents at home, Anna Marie and especially Jacques and my sister Lana for their support and prayers in these difficult times.
I love you very much!
Please keep on praying...

A life like no other...
Living the life I always dreamed off... but never hoped for.
Who ever thought that travelling around the world with christian friends can have such an impact on your life. I realised last night again that this year can`t be seen as a "mission year" but that God asks of us a lifestyle like that of Christ. Christ was the one example every Christian traveller should follow... Travelling from town to town he touched and changed lives dramatically...
It is my prayer as I travel through the world in this year that I will seek God at all times and learn to love Him more... and follow in His example of "life changing-travel"...
I miss all my friends and family back home, but know that I am going through a great time of growth and exploration of being a child o God!!

I love you all very much!!
God Bless!!

FOR GOD SO LOVED THE
W O R L D...

How could I have been so dum...?
Some of my friends might have a quick answer to that one, but I was astonished by the grace of the Lord as never before.
Here in a small town in Gautemala a family of thirteen lost all their belongings and the only warmth they new in this world. For the past four months they lived underneath roofsheets that was put at an angle against a wall. Believe it or not they had to rent that small space. The grandpa and his son in law did what ever they could to provide for their family. God saw their desparate need and in His greatness determined that the World Race Teams pass by Panajachel where a flood changed the lives of many. Through Gods grace and provision we were able to give them a new home without them paying for it. The same way I received my salvation. Not earning or paying for it, but by grace alone I am saved...
I have first hand experienced the awesome grace of God... Not only in my own life, but also the lives of people in desparate need around me. And all it cost, was one prayer; ascepting the love and grace God have for you.
The life of oupa and his twelve other family members changed for ever when they freely received their new home yesterday... They same way you can to receive a new home in heaven today if you ascept Christ Jesus as your saviour!!!
"For God so loved the world, that he gave His only son, so that who ever believes in Him wil have eternal life..."
Thank you for every person praying for us and the support you give! Know that this work can not be done without your prayers and support and that a person praying at home is just as much a part of this work as I am!!
Mag julle elkeen die seën van die Here beleef en Sy krag ervaar!! Verlang maar
lekker terug!! My pa en Mnr Els sal lekker trots wees op die huisie en paar beddens!! Hulle moet nog planke opkry!! Dankie PUKKE!!
Liefde vir my ouers...
Groete en seën
Stefan
(Dankie vir al die ondersteuning daar van Daniel Pienaar in Uitenhage!! Mis julle!!)

FROM THE NEWS ROOM
Since my previous blog... My world has changed!!
We were invited to some new American friends the other night for a dinner out of heaven!! While there, they asked us to sing our National Anthem. So, there we were. Nine proudly South Africans, standing shoulder to shoulder singing our anthem so loud that I think Shaka Zulu must have heard it! During those heart-warming moments my mind was flooded with some rich new insights: Our rainbow-nation ascepted a new flag, new anthem and new way of life this past decade without one drop of blood being shed. This must have been a truly God-inspired and guided happening! The words of our anthem then also became real to me for the first time:
translated:
"Bless us Lord, Bless your children in Africa..." It is actually a
prayer. I then also realised that for us and our nation...
All things are possible through Christ Jesus.
So, stay proudly South African back home and appreciate the great nation of ou ours!!
On the other hand...
It has been long since I have worked as hard as I did these past few days. God has really blessed us with the strenght and knowledge we needed. We built a new house for two families who wil be living in it. It is one house of 4m X 7m with a single wall separating the two families. One of the families are seven and the other six. Stewart and I today built the long-drop that will be used by these two families. This has really been a project on which God has thought me a lot:

I learned that my own ideas aren´t always the best and that there are more than one way of doing things. I also learned that God is able to bring hope where there is none and give life where men fail to see the light... For these families who lost everything in the flood... God sent hope and gave a new home!!

On my next update I´ll show you more of the house and also some pics of the family!! Thanks for all your prayers and support!!
Lots of love to my dear parents, family and friends!! Hope the DP-Tigers are winning every game and that you keep our countries flag flying high!!
Baie lief vir julle mamma en pappa... Julle seun is a-okay en verlang net baie!!
Gesels weer!!
God Bless!!
